Really good news: we all got into the country without a hitch! As soon as we were out of the airport the sidewalk was lined with taxi drivers hollering at us to see if we needed a ride! That was quite an experience! Mr. Kennedy did his best to form a barrier on one side of the sidewalk so the drivers wouldn't harass us too much since we already had a bus coming for us.
He then tried to get a group picture, but we were all too tired for that!
When we got on the bus we took in the sites that we could, being that it was 9:00 PM...we saw lots of bright lights and advertisements! Strange thing about the advertisements: some of them were in English while others were in Spanish! So, we could read some of them!
As we were enjoying our drive with our windows down and a breeze coming in and cooling us down, we realized we were seeing some of the same things again and again...
That's right! Our first night here, our bus driver couldn't find the hotel! After some of us (ME!) already being terrified about being in a foreign country, that was not necessary! Turns out we had circled our hotel 3 times, but the sign was so small we missed it!
It has been a fun day, with lots of looks of terror and anxiety, at least on my part! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
